Yes new contents is very interesting to the readers and of course to the crawlers(considering that it is content rich and keyword targeted). Most SEO experts are using new articles as a bait to gather visitors to the site and maybe a potential costumers. But it should be related to the products.

I personnally try to update content about 2-3 times per week and the fresh content usually gets indexed within 12 hrs! :)

I agree with you. Search engines love fresh content. Fresh constantly changing content gets spidered by the search engines more often than websites that have had the same content for years. And the easy way to get that fresh content is from rss feed. I personally use rss feed for some of my website and blogs.

If there´s one thing Google loves, it´s content. But if your site content doesn´t pass Google´s own freshness test, then your rankings might suffer.

I made one update to my site, and that got me from page 6 to page 4 in Google.
